Sister Mary Scholastica Rivata

First Pious Disciple of the Divine Master

March 24, 2007: The 20th anniversary of the “dies natalis” of Mother M. Scholastica Rivata and the date on which we will begin the “Year of Mother Scholastica”:

O Divine Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit we adore you and we thank you because, in your infinite wisdom, you chose Sister MARY SCHOLASTICA RIVATA, a devoted and faithful disciple of Jesus Master Way, truth and Life.  She fulfilled the vocation and mission to be at the service of the Eucharist, the priesthood and the liturgy.  Father, if it accords with your divine will, glorify her here on earth.  Through her intercession grant us the grace we are praying for.... AMEN

A THREEFOLD EUCHARISTIC-PRIESTLY-LITURGICAL APOSTOLATE:

We are CONTEMPLATIVE-APOSTOLIC congregation, part of a larger religious family called "The Pauline Family". Founded by Blessed James Alberione in Alba, Italy in 1924, the Sister Disciples carry out their mission in a threefold apostolate EUCHARISTIC-PRIESTLY-LITURGICAL. We offer God prayers of petition and intercession for those dedicated to the proclamation of the Gospel using the modern means of social communication; and offer reparation for error, scandal and evil spread in the world through the misuse of these means.

The center of the life of the Sister Disciples is JESUS CHRIST the Divine Master who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. We aim to imitate, re-present and live today in the Church the examples of the Divine Master, especially His contemplative mystery, his prayer and praise to the Father in the name of humanity. We accomplish this in particular by an intensely live-out EUCHARISTIC life, and by our apostolic services. The congregation is characterized by the daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a life of prayer, and the active involvement in Priestly and Liturgical apostolates.

We take care of elderly and infirm Priests; perform apostolates of liturgical animation, and catechesis through sacred art, music and crafts. We prepare vestments, design churches, produce stained glass windows and all the material necessary for helping the faithful enter with devotion into the unfathomable treasures of salvation communicated in the celebration of the Sacraments and the Liturgy. Today, we are present in 28 countries around the globe, making Jesus Christ known, loved and perpetually adored throughout the whole World.
